Welcome to All About Allergy, our new channel to address the issues that matter most to those living with allergies and with the single goal of improving health and therefore quality of life.
Who are we? The British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) is the national, professional and academic society which represents the specialty of allergy at all levels. Our aim is to improve the management of allergies and related diseases of the immune system in the United Kingdom, through education, training and research.
Our members, who cover a wide range of disciplines, are qualified in providing allergy expertise and making decisions based on scientific evidence for the benefit of patients. These values serve as a foundation for the work we undertake.
As an organisation we also work with a wide range of stakeholders to drive improvements in allergy management, from government agencies to policy makers, patient organisations and industry. The national allergy population has benefited from many therapeutic advances, however more research is needed. Therefore, BSACI collaborates with the biomedical industry, where it’s in the interest of patients, to improve patient outcomes.
BSACI collaborates internationally with three of the largest allergy organisations in the world, in Europe, America and Worldwide through our annual global symposium, guideline development program and our own annual conference. These ensure our members have the most up to date advances in allergy research to improve patient care and outcomes, breakthroughs which we can share with you.
All About Allergy is therefore designed to offer the latest clinical insights and advice from across our allergy community. I hope you will therefore find it a helpful and practical resource.
